About Ventura Brew Tours
Founder
Ventura Brew Tours was founded by J.R. Ford, who — while not a brewer himself — was instrumental in helping forge the craft brewery scene in Ventura.

In 1997, he opened the Winchester Grill, which featured 41 draft beer handles, the largest selection between L.A. and San Francisco at the time.
Winchester's was the first Ventura County establishment to carry the likes of Firestone, Surf Brewing and Topa Topa outside of their respective breweries.

They were supporting craft beer before it was cool.
